In 2009, the idol loving 18 year old girl left her hometown of Kobe and arrived in Tokyo to play live shows. Her live shows, which involve unique elements mobilizing huge amounts of people every time, amount to over 300 shows a year and with her new nickname ‘Mainya’, became famous on the live music circuit in no time. In Sept 2009 she released her first single which was a limited press of 1000 units that sold out in 5 days. She continued to release CDs all which sold out at a very high pace and her 4th single ‘Cosmic☆Universe’which was a limited press of 5000 units, sold out in 2 weeks and entered the daily Oricon charts at no.6. After seeing all her singles sell out, in June 2011 she released her 5th single ‘Lagrangian☆Point’(written and composed by Haruko Momoi) which was released as a limited press of 10,000 units (previously unheard of in indie circles). It sold over 7000 units in the first week and entered the weekly Oricon charts at 24th. Outside of her music, she appeared in the Sunday evening drama ‘Ore No Sora – Keiji hen’on TV Asahi in October, and in the movie ‘Chikyu Bouei Girls P9’(directed by Minoru Kawasaki) as well as in magazines such as ‘Playboy’ and ‘UTB’. She also hosts 2 radio programs and was recently used in a TV commercial for TOYOTA. In Oct 2011 she also appeared in the ‘AKIBA Fes’ held in Bangkok, Thailand. She also writes entries into her blog everyday – on it she shows fans her unique style of taking photos of herself and accumulates over 100,000 visits a day. Famous Japanese comedian ‘Gekidan Hitori’ saw one of these photos and posted it in his twitter, making him a fan. He has also recently personally come to ‘meet & greets’, talked about her in his regular column in magazine ‘Shukan Bunshun’and is the idol he thinks will be the next to break.
